So I've just started my second year at uni and thought it would be a good idea to do a post on essential dresses for all the freshers out there. I think every girl needs a good selection of dresses for day wear end evening wear. Last year I would probably spend about 3 hours in my room before going out because I wouldn't have a clue what to wear... the whole "I have no clothes" thing was something that would often pop into my head while looking at my overflowing wardrobe!
below are my top dresses from New Look... They offer student discount so remember to show your card when buying from them!
Day Dresses
Dresses for a Night Out
I think having a decent day dress and a decent going out dress is so important! Even if you were to just get a day dress it is so easy to dress it up a bit by wearing heals rather than flats and by adding some statement jewelry.

Hot Hot Hot
It's been a few weeks since my last blog post (sorry about that) but I have been busy with training for my new job then actually starting it. The training was in London on Oxford street (my bank account is looking very depressing as a result) and I got to stay in a hotel in Covent Garden for 5 days!
We got told to dress smart as if we were at work but this only lasted a day because of the heat, so for the rest of the training we were allowed to be a little more casual. The pictures below are what I wore each day, however on day 3 I was running a little late so I didn't have time to take any.

OOTD - 11/07/13
Purple dress and Belt - New Look
Top - M&S
Bag - Primark
Socks - bhs
I feel I should start by saying that the top i'm wearing was given to me about 5 years ago (don't know how it still fits!) It is actually longer in length but I have folded it under the belt. This is the sort of thing that could be worn with jeans without the belt to dress it down.
This outfit is great if you are a pear shape or if you want to make your bum and hips look smaller because the detail on the top keeps the attention there. This could also work the other way if you are top heavy by putting the detail on the bottom and wearing something plain on top.
Next week I am going away for a few days for training before I start my new job, the fact i'm going to have money again is rather exciting and I know I will go a bit crazy with the spending as I haven't had money to spend for the last few months. Oxford Street here I come!

OOTD
Today I went to the Hertfordshire / Bedfordshire blogger meet up (which I will be posting about later on in the week). This was my first blogger meet up and it was so great to meet other bloggers in the area!
I chose this outfit based mainly on the weather, after all we are in the middle of a heat wave! The dress and the knitted cardi are both from New Look, I got the dress a few years ago and it has really lasted well. The dress is a bit short on me so I wore denim shorts underneath (also from New Look) however it can also be worn with skinny jeans. The red belt came with the dress and I actually borrowed the converse shoes from my mum. As for the gold bracelets i'm not actually sure where i got them from, i'v had that long. The gold chain ring came in a set of rings from Lipsy that i got about a year ago, he colour has lased surprisingly well as usually the gold wears off.

First Outfit Post!
Peplum top - boohoo.com
Long purple top and shoes - New Look
Leggings and earring - River Island
Gold bangles - Primark
Rings - Topshop
Socks - M&Co
Now that I have finished University for the year I have had a lot more time to blog, I also realised I hadn't yet done an outfit post that wasn't in one of the university studios. Unfortunately it is raining outside (typical Britain) so it had to be done indoors. I got the Floral Peplum Blouse back in January and I find it is the perfect top to go out in. The fabric is chiffon so I put a long purple top under it and teamed it with 'shine' leggings.
As for the shoes i'm loving the cut out trend at the moment, even though i probably wouldn't wear these when its raining. I put large knit socks with these to mach in with the rest of the purple in the outfit.

Festival Fashion
Once again its festival season! Even though it looks like the most important things to pack will be a raincoat and some wellies, don't forget your tie-dye denims, Aztec accessories and Paisley dresses because printed garm is essential for this summer's festivals!
Below are some of my favorites from each trend!
